News Flash.bomb blast in Jos.( 4 killed as attempts to bomb churches fail in Jos)

Jos: Fate intervened, Sunday,  to avert what would have been another major tragedy as an alleged attempt to bomb a church during Sunday service went awry with the bomb exploding and killing instantly the two people carrying it. At least two other people were killed in the commotion that followed the explosion.

The same Sunday, another attempt to plant another bomb among cars parked at the Mountains of Fire and Miracles Church along Murtala Mohammed Way was foiled by the church’s security men.
Police authorities from Force headquarters, Abuja, have  dismissed claims that a bomb blast occurred in the Jos metropolis following the unending Jos ethno/religious crisis killing scores of people and causing immeasurable damage.
A man who arrived at the church premises on a motorcycle was said to have been noticed moving round the parked cars with a polythene bag but fled when he was challenged by a guard dropping the bag which was later found to contain explosives.
The two people blown up by the bomb were said to be trying to plant the bomb around COCIN Church in Nasarawa Gwom area when the bomb exploded. Another version said they were still moving on the motorcycle when it exploded.
The blast which occurred near the church threw worshipers into panic and forced the church to cancel other services for the day. Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr. Istifanus Mwansat was among the worshippers.
Irate youth in the area were said to have immediately set the corpses on fire and the ensuing pandemonium degenerated into another religious hostilities with attacks on Christians and Muslims by mobs in parts of the city.
Our correspondent sighted a corpse and a motorcycle burning around Angwa Rukuba junction along the Bauchi Ring Road while wind shields of many vehicles parked inside the church were smashed by stones thrown into the compound by miscreants.
A general atmosphere of fear again enveloped the town as people dashed home for fear of other bombs exploding in other parts but the Special Task Force maintaining security in the state moved in promptly to restore normalcy in troubled parts.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Abdulrahman Akano said the two people were riding on the motorbike when the bomb exploded. A police statement signed by ASP Apev Jacob said apart from the killed bombers, two other corpses were found, one at Dualla Junction and another inside a well.
Reacting to the incident, the state government thanked God for averting another tragedy that the bomb would have caused if successfully planted in churches.
Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Gregory Yenlong in a statement called for calm and urged the people to be vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies.

The Police however disclosed that two persons who ostensibly were carrying explosives in a motorcycle died when angry youths who suspected them, pursued them until they crashed and the explosives went off.
Force Public Relations officer, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Olusola Amore told Vanguard on phone that when vigilant youths suspected that the two persons atop the Okada were carrying explosives, they gave them a hot chase. In the bid of the two persons atop the Okada to escape, they crashed the Okada and the explosives went off.
He confirmed that the two were lynched by the angry Jos youths immediately their Okada crashed and the explosives went off before the Police could come to their aid pointing out however that no other person was killed.
He advised people to go about their normal duties as the situation has been contained by police and other security agencies while security has been beefed up around Jos metropolis
