Uzodinma Is PDP Senatorial Candidate For Imo West Not Sen Osita Izunaso – Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Thursay 5 May 2011 resolved one of the controversial political issues plaguing Imo State with a ruling that Chief Hope Uzodinma is the authentic Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidate for Imo West Senatorial District having won the party’s primary.
The ruling also clears the path for Chief Hope Uzodinma to claim victory in the April 9th National Election as the PDP emerged winner of the election Senatorial election for that district.
In a unanimous decision, the Court set aside the judgment of both the Federal High Court Abuja and the Court of Appeal, which had earlier declared incumbent Senator Osita Izunaso as the candidate of the party for the senatorial seat.
