"My father is not dead, he is still at the hospital, he is not well but he is alive" stated Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu [Jnr], the first son of Chief Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu on the telephone to 247ureports.com on the evening of Wednesday, August 10, 2011 following rumors of his father's death. This confirmed the earlier information from the nurse attending to Ojukwu in a London rehabilitation home indicating Ojukwu was still alive.

Ojukwu [Snr] had fallen ill on December 1, 2010 following a massive stroke at his Enugu home. Due to neglect on the part of his caretakers, he collapsed and his health worsenedand he fell into a coma - on the 19th of December 2010. He was then rushed from his home in Enugu to the Teaching hospital in Enugu where the doctor\'s comfirmed that his condition worsened as a result of neglect. Four later on the 23rd of December 2010, he was flown to London on an Air Ambulance. He had since remained in near-vegetative state. Recently he was moved out of the London Clinic to a lesser expensive home - where he is reported to be receiving rehabilitative treatment [not medical] and prayers.

Ojukwu [Jnr] who spoke briefly with newsmen lamented the rumor being spread over his father\'s wellbeing and health status while adding that the prayers of the people are needed.

Meanwhile, the young beautiful wife of Ojukwu remains in her new home in Abuja.
