Protesting Students Of Benue State University Raze Down BIRS Corporate Head Office In Makurdi.

Protesting students of Benue State University today burnt down the office of BIRS (BOARD OF INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE) The students were protesting the death of a final year student of Economics who was knocked down by a truck belonging to Dangote Cement.
The students who took to the street also razed down the building of BIRS which is located close to the University. The students looted the offices before setting the front block ablaze,Laptops,Motorbikes,Televisions and other valuable items were carted away.
BIRS Chairman Mr Andy Ayabam confirmed the incident.
Meanwhile the Institution has being closed as a result of the crisis on campus.A statement by the Registrar of the University,Dr.Timothy Utile says the Vice Chancellor,Professor (Mrs.) Charity Angya has approved the closure subject to ratification by the Senate. The statement directs all students to leave the campus immediately.
I feel so sad because most of the graduates in BSU have being employed by BIRS.
