David Beckham Sells Luxury Car Collection.

 David Beckham has decided to sell off his collection of luxury cars because he doesn’t get to spend enough time with them.

The 36 year old footballer has decided to get rid of two Bentleys, a BMW 645, a Range Rover Sport and his Lamborghini Gallardo worth £170,000.

According to newspaper reports the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, feels worried that his fabulous collection is gathering dust at his multi-million pound home in Sawbridgeworth, Herts, that has been dubbed Beckingham Palace.

But the footballer has just signed an extension that will keep him in California as the star man with the LA Galaxy and spends very little time in England.

One Beckham confidante is reported as saying that the player could see little point in keep so many top of the range cars mothballed when they could be owned by someone else. He has thought about getting them shipped to LA but decided it was impractical.

All the cars are kept in peak of condition. They have hardly been used and the engines turned on just enough to keep them in good order. His UK collection is said to be worth at least $790,000 but it is  likely he will get far more when he comes to put his vehicles up for sale. Any objects that have a direct association with the star tend to surge in value once they are put on the market. Last year he was able to sell his Porsche 911 Carrera on ebay for $215,000. And in 2005 he sold a BMW M3 for $142,000 having paid just $90,000 for it. 

In the US he has a Range Rover and several Cadillacs in his collection but he is also spotted driving around LA on his motorbike. He tells friends that being on the bike gives him the opportunity to spend a little time on his own.

It also gives him an opportunity to be photographed in a different setting. Beckham may be one of the best known celebrities in the world, but when it comes to getting noticed he understands the value of promoting Brand Beckham.

His wife Victoria has dubbed him Goldenballs and it seems as if everything he touches really does turn to gold.
