Fela's Kalakuta Republic Soon To Become A Museum.

The popular Kalakuta Republic at Pepple Street, Ikeja will be turned into a museum by the Lagos State government to honour, the late Afro-beat icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

The state commissioner for tourism and inter-governmental relations, Mr. Oladisun Holloway, who said this on Tuesday, disclosed that the government decided to immortalize Fela because he remained one of the greatest musicians from Africa.
"Though the Afro beat legend was not from Lagos, the present administration is determined to honour him because of his immense contributions to the growth and development of Afro beat music all over the world", he said.
Holloway said that the opening of the museum would coincide with the celebration of the annual 'Felabration' slated for October this year.
