Group Appeals To Tinubu Over UNILAG

A non-partisan group, Southwest Youth Leaders Association, has urged former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to prevail on students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and their management to accept the renaming of the institution after the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Moshood Abiola.

In a statement in Akure, the Ondo State capital, by its Secretary-General, Segun Awoyinfa, the group said the late Abiola’s contribution to national development should be applauded without sentiment.

It noted that Asiwaju Tinubu, being a respected leader of the Yoruba, should work in tandem with other national leaders to ensure that a befitting honour is accorded the late Abiola.
