30 Year Old Man Standing Trial For Shooting His Son While Testing ''Juju''.

A 30-year-old man, Ornguga Adega, of Agbatse village in Kwande local government area of Benue State was on Thursday arraigned before a Makurdi Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly shooting his ten-year-old son, Sunday Ornguga.

It was gathered that Sunday’s father had on August 2 bought some concoction believed to have the power of stopping bullet from penetrating the body from a native doctor and rubbed it on the body of his son in order to test its efficacy.
The father was said to have shot the son on his right leg after which the bullet penetrated through to the left leg, causing the boy to bleed to death.
Police prosecutor, Gabriel Egbonyi, told the court that the accused was arrested during the process of investigation and that he confessed to committing the crime.
When the case came up yesterday, no plea was taken for want of jurisdiction but prosecution said investigation was still in progress and asked for another date.
The Chief Magistrate, Dan Ogoh, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to September 12.
