We live in changing times, with lots of intimidating influences, no thanks to peer pressures, visual contents of what we are exposed to and even the media. Daily, as humans seek to make a living, the desire to fast track their success becomes an issue that could make or break a person’s life, most especially in the life of teenagers.
Rather than join the world in chanting the “premarital sex”–is-not-good song and not doing anything about it, the producers and actors in this movie- “Heavy Beauty” has come up with a way to enlighten everyone.
The movie “Heavy Beauty” seeks to educated teenagers and young adults about the dangers lurking ahead for youths who in their bid to attain, fame, wealth, position and influence, give up their moral virtue.
“Heavy Beauty”, a must-see for all, is a combination of both new faces and celebrity cast including “Africa's most eccentric presenter” Denrele Edun, Big Brother Amplified winner Karen Igho, raising artist Abiola David Aina, popularly known as Flowsick, top comedian, Lepacious Bose and Gulder Ultimate Search Season 7 winner Oyekunle Oluwaremi.
The movie is produced by Grace Edwin-Okon for MightyJot Studios and directed by Stanlee Ohikhuare with associate producer Gbemiga Oladele. “Heavy Beauty” also features hit sound tracks from notable artist including Omawunmi, Flowsick and Asa.
Synpopsis
The movie is about a young girl, who sees beauty pageantry as an easy way to success, but with the wrong mindset built on wrong assumptions, she is faced with the issues of unwanted pregnancy, emotional pains, abortion, guilt and many others.
She is sandwiched between peer pressure, moral obligations, social relationships and demanding choices.
The summary of the issues highlighted in movie dwells on the day-to-day real life experiences an 18year old girl, who has always had the dream of becoming a beauty queen. She finally gets the chance to realize her dreams, however it was almost cut short by an unwanted pregnancy. She is caught between having the baby and going ahead with the pageant, so much happens in between that leaves the audience guessing for the next line of action. Unlike similar movies, which has seen the audience predict with sure probability what the next scene would be. This is not the case with “Heavy Beauty” as each new scene is totally different from your expectations one that makes it stand out from most Nollywood movies and shows that careful though and plan has gone into the entire movie from the script, scenes, set, location to production.
