Baby Abducted In R.C.C.G Abuja.




Two months ago,a baby was stolen from a church in Logo ,Benue state,Last sunday another case of baby theft was  reported.A middle aged chorister with Redeemed Chiristian Church Of God  Comfort Amos was reported to have stolen a baby during worship,the church  is located along Aminu Kano Crescent in Wuse 2, Abuja. The suspect was said to have collected the 9-month-old baby,Oluwatoniloba David Obafemi from his mother, Mariah Toyin Obafemi, who sat close to her in the church.
We  gathered that the suspect pretended to be assisting the mother to carry her child and later took excuse that she was going to the children’s section of the church to give offering money to her house help. A witness said the mother of the child became worried after waiting for a while without seeing the woman with her child and raised an alarm when neither of them was found within the church’s premises after frantic search efforts.
           A church member immediately put a call through to the suspect’s phone and she replied that she was not running away with the baby but would soon be back,” the witness said the woman later switched off her phone and all efforts to trace her whereabouts have not been successful.When  the father of the abducted baby was contacted yesterday evening, he confirmed the incident and said  the baby is yet to be found. He appealed to members of the public that have useful information about the abducted baby to report to the nearest police station. FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent Doris England, confirmed the incident and said the woman gave her son to the suspect, who disappeared. “Investigation is on into the matter,” she added.
