Gov.Splashes N10million On Lobi Stars.

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has splashed a whopping sum of N10m naira on the state football team, Lobi Stars for its excellent performance in this year's Nigeria Premier League and the Federation Cup.
Lobi Stars parading relatively unknown players this season clinched a continental ticket with a third place finish in the NPL and also played in the finals of the Federation Cup.
The club's Technical Adviser, Mr. Dominic Iorfa also emerged the NPL manager of the year and was duly recognized during the NPL Bloggers Award ceremony held recently in Lagos.
Speaking to Trustsports yesterday, the former international said the kind gesture from the governor would go a long way in boosting the morale of the players and their officials as they prepare for the new football season.
He said while donating the cash to Lobi Stars, the governor promised to extend the same gesture to any Benue indigene who brings honour to the state in any human endeavour.
"Our sports loving governor, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Suswam has graciously rewarded us with the sum of N10m for our excellent performance in the season that has just ended. He said for doing very well in the league and Federation Cup, we deserve to be rewarded.
"He also said whoever brings honour to the state will be rewarded appropriately. We are also happy that he has since thrown his weight behind our continental campaign. As usual, he is willing to motivate the club to do even better next season.
"This gesture from the governor is coming at the right time because it will motivate the players to give their hundred percent as we commence preparations for next season".
Iorfa said the N10m reward did not come to him as a surprise because Lobi Stars is one of the best sponsored clubs in the NPL.
