FG To Hold Concert On Job Creation.






 

The Federal Government has concluded arrangements to host an entrepreneurship music show that would enhance speedy job creation in the country.

The event which is being organized by the office of the Special Assistant to the President on job creation, is also geared towards boosting entrepreneurship drive among unemployed youths through entertainment.

Briefing journalists at the flag off of the programme today in Abuja on the theme, "Inspire Nigeria" the Special Assistant to the President on job creation, Josephine Washima said that the show tagged "job creation edutainment concert" slated to hold on 30th March 2013 at the International Conference Center Abuja will provide youths in the country with the opportunity to share ideas and initiatives for business development.

The concert will commence from 8:00am to 4:00pm with exhibition and interactions while the music concert proper will begin at 5:00pm till dawn.

She explained that the Federal Government was committed to reducing the rate of unemployment in Nigeria which according to recent records by the National Bureau of Statistics NBC stands at 27 percent.

"It is imperative that we kick start activities that will show our commitment to generating employment for our teeming youths who are getting restless with every passing day and thereby fast loosing trust in this administration's resolve to reduce the rate of unemployment through its activities as promised in the transformation agenda," she stressed.

Washima noted that while providing a platform that will promote existing brands and businesses, the forth-coming edutainment concert will also give organizations and individuals a wider market coverage and opportunity to showcase products and services.

The Special Assistant further explained that during the concert, participants would be taken through a mentoring session by successful young entrepreneurs and speakers in the country and within the African continent.

The edutainment concert is the first of its kind in the country and focuses on training, mentoring, entertainment, boosting entrepreneurship enterprise and industry development among youths.

The Special Assistant has said that the event will also feature exhibition of mini job fair session to create a platform for investors to identify and sponsor entrepreneurs with exclusive and creative products.
 Mr. Kanayo O. Kanayo, Nollywood Star Actor and representative of the Nigerian Entertainment industry at the event assured its support and partnership to ensure the success of the concert.

He said given the importance of the event and its relevance to the achievement of President Goodluck Jonathan's transformation agenda, Nollywood has endorsed fully the forth-coming concert which has the capacity to develop entrepreneurship among the youth.
