Rihanna Sets New Billboard Record With ‘Stay’ .
Rihanna continues her US chart reign this week, breaking an impressive new record on the Billboard charts.
This, thanks to her critically acclaimed ‘Unapologetic’ single ‘Stay’ and 9 other smash hit singles that came before it.
The Mainstream Top 40 chart (or Pop Songs) tallies the highest played songs on radio week on week, measuring the highest played songs on mainstream radio stations.
This week, thanks to the support she has garnered from radio, Rihanna has secured her 10th #1 on the chart, giving her the record for being the only artist to have as many songs to top the tally, once ‘Stay’ reached its new peak.
As it stands, the single is now the second ballad to reach the coveted spot, following the release and subsequent chart reign of Bruno Mars‘ Smeezingtons’ produced ‘When I Was Your Man‘.
