Kannywood Star Rahama Hassan And Others Bag Awards At The Filmbiz Entrepreneurship Awards In Abuja.

The awards was organised to encourage practitioners in Kannywood.
A Kannywood star, Rahama Hassan, was recently presented with the Best Actress Award at the Filmbiz Entrepreneurship Awards Organized by You Win in collaboration with New Qamar Media, a media and an integrated creative web technology solutions agency based in Mumbai, India.
According to its organisers, the awards ceremony, which took place at the Silverbird Plaza, Abuja, on May 2, was aimed at promoting actors and actresses of the Kannywood (Hausa) Film Industry and to also find a way of rendering assistance to the Kannywood.
Celebrities at the event included Nafisa Abdullahi, Sani Danja and Wani Gari, Lamiraj’ movie director Aminu Saira amongst others grace the occasion. The Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso received the Life Time Achievement Award for his support to the industry.
Mahmood Mohammed, an actor, said, “This is just the beginning. We hope to take Kannywood movies to the Oscars (The Academy Awards in the US) someday. The industry is really going places and kudos to our actors, producers and directors.”
