Hello FMBlog Divas
If you are anything like me, harmattan season can wreak havoc on your lips. The harsh cold weather can cause lips to become chapped, dry, and rough. Mine even become discoloured after my chapped or split lips have healed. That is not cute! Well, worry no longer. I have a great lip scrub recipe that I use to repair my lips to get them back to kissable shape.
Four Simple Ingredients:
Brown Sugar
Olive Oil
Lemon
Pure Honey
|
Add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar into a bowl. |
|
Pour in 1 teaspoon of honey. |
|
1 teaspoon of olive oil. |
|
1 teaspoon of lemon juice. |
|
Mix together. |

Apply a generous amount to the lips and lightly rub in using small circles for about a 1 minute. Let the mixture sit on the lip after rubbing for about 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Now you are ready to apply your favorite lipstick! | |

Put remaining mixture in air tight container and store in the refrigerator. |
I priced other lips scrubs and they average about N2500 for a small container. This cost me about N3000 and I probably could make about a pint. Not only is it cost effective but it is all natural ingredients with no additives or chemicals. This lip scrub not only leaves your lips feeling wonderful but it tastes great too. It will be hard not to lick your lips! If you are using the scrub for repair, try using twice a week. If you are using it for maintenance, try using once a week. Use your best judgement on rather to increase or decrease your usage. Remember not to scrub too hard.
Here is each ingredients' usefulness:
- Honey: mild antiseptic, promotes new tissue growth, exfoliation, antioxidant, and improves blood circulation.
- Olive Oil: conditioning, protection against sun damage
- Lemon: mild antiseptic, lighten discoloration, removal of bacteria, exfoliation
I hope this scrub adds a little pleasure in your pucker.
