Long Flights: Tips To Being Comfortable.

Long trips doesn't have to be stressful. It can be enjoyed!

Being on long domestic or international flight can be quite stressful and as such remould what should have been a pleasant business or family holiday. Experts around the world have helped put up some guidelines to help you experience an almost stress-free long flight.

Find below some of the useful tips and feel free to share with your friends and family.

- Its starts with a good seat
Even within the same class and fare, some seats are far superior to others. Consider an aisle or exit row seat for leg room, or a window if you want to sleep. Most travellers always like the window seats but you are in best position to determine the kind of seat position that best suits you. A website mostly used is www.seatguru.com, they provide detailed information about all seats on almost all major airlines of the world. You will even find seat maps and reviews and seat ratings.

- Online check-in cuts off the first stress
In this era were almost everything has gone online, the airlines too aren’t left out. Many airlines now provide flyers with options of checking-in online. This will save you the stress of long queues at the airport. Make sure your preferred airline proffers you with online check-in services.

- Cut down your luggage
Of course this isn’t easy for many people but it is very good to limit yourself to hand luggage. You will enjoy it when you’re checking-out and you just walk easily out off the airport, there’s no time needed to be wasted while waiting for baggage pick-up and clearance.

- Misc. tips
Since its a long trip, bring a toothbrush, and anything else that isn't a liquid or a gel, that you need to help freshen up before meeting your loved ones at the end of your long flight. They, and your neighbors in-flight, will be glad you did.
Also Check www.airlinemeals.net to look through the reviews and decide if you should buy food before the flight. You also have the option to contact your airline in advance to find out if they still offer free meals and potentially request a special meal.
Take some sweets or other snacks with you. Protein bars are particularly helpful if on a long-flight. Most airline meals tend to be low in protein and high in carbohydrates.

Now lets check out some tips to keep you pleasant while flying ...................

- Don't lock yourself up: Move around
Whenever the seat-belt lights goes off, feel free to move around to prevent your body from aching due to poor circulation. Some airlines provide guidance on in-seat exercises you can do (such as circling ankles and stretching arms).  Taking a stroll is also an option you should consider plus most airlines usually have a room to do some back stretches at the back of some of the cabins.

- Prevent dehydration
Undoubtedly the air on a flight is very dry and as such may get you dehydrated. DONT let that happen! Drink plenty of water, ask for it, its been paid for. You can make use of saline nasal gel if your nose feels dry or you can put it on a cotton swab and coat the inner 1/2 inch of your nasal passages (in cases of extreme dryness).
Your skin and lips should also be prevented from dryness, bring lip balm in a 3 oz or smaller container and use it to protect your lips from becoming painfully dry. Bring a small container of hand lotion or cocoa butter if your skin dries easily.

- Time is your friend
While on a flight, consider time as your friend. Feel free to let it go, there is really nothing you can do about it. Except for rare cases, your flight duration wont be extended but surely, the time cant be reduced. Therefore, STOP staring at the time, it will only make the flight seem longer than normal.

- Misc. Todo
Depending on your person, the kind of activity that interests you is your choice. Below are some miscellaneous things to do while flying:

Electronic devices:- Smartphone in airplane mode,  Music player,  eReader, Tablet computer,- Handheld game
Earphones:- Noise-canceling headphones, Airline-provided ones for in-flight movies/music- Ear plugs for noise and pressure
Paper media:- Newspaper, Book, Magazine, Crossword puzzle, Journal for writing, Airline magazine or SkyMall, Travel guide for the place you’re visiting
Productive:- Study, Catch up on some work, Learn phrases in another language, Review camera tutorial
Other:- Snack, Nap, Befriend seatmate, Stretch or walk the aisle, Gaze out the window
