Tar Ukoh Moves To Consolidate " Bennywood". The Benue Version Of Nollywood.
A concept is in the offing where all Benue artistes, film producers, directors and other major players in the state's film industry would form a parallel movie industry called "Bennywood", the Benue version of Nollywood.
Already, the Nigeria Video and Film Censors Board (NFVCB) is planning a workshop for stakeholders in the Benue film industry.
The idea of Bennywood is that of Tar Ukoh popularly known in Benue as "Mambissa." Ukoh is a Key player in Benue entertainment industry.
A graduate of film and television, Ukoh his expected to midwife the Bennywood project.
According to Ukoh, the project would serve as a template for other states in the North-Central geopolitical zone of the nation. "It will join the Hausa and the Yoruba film industries, which remain the only two indigenous film industries in a country with diverse cultures and ethnicity," he said.
