140 Anti-Bomb Technicians And Investigators Graduate From Police Bomb Unit.



The Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Dahiru Abubakar, has assured that the Nigerian police is well equipped to tackle terrorism head on in the country.  The police boss spoke through the Assistant Inspector- General of Police in-charge of Zone 11, Lagos, Mamman Tsafe, at the graduation ceremony of Explosive Ordinance Department,  EOD,  (Anti – Bomb) Technicians and Investigators Training Course, at the Police College Ikeja, Lagos, recently.

In his welcome address, the Commissioner of Police, EOD Command, Abdulmajid Ali, extolled the leadership qualities of the IGP Abubakar, saying the passing out parade which witnessed a large number of trainees since inception in 1976, was a vivid testimony to the  IG’s leadership prowess. “The training exercise which is part of the IG’s agenda towards improving the personnel strength of the command has repositioned the Command to combat the challenges of terrorism and insurgency in the country. We evaluated the grey areas of EOD (Anti-Bomb) Command and operational challenges and put in place, lasting mechanism to rectify them by providing for personnel comprehensive training programme conducive for qualitative policing in Nigeria.”

He equally advised graduands to maintain high sense of dignity in all their actions, while on and off duty.

The well attended event witnessed the presence of top ranking officials of the Nigeria Police Force, and dignitaries from all over the country.  High points was the presentation of awards to outstanding students during the training.
