Instructions

DIY Cocktail Bar
Come up with three or four drinks that you would like to serve at your party. Consider serving something classic, like a gin martini, and something more contemporary, like a cosmopolitan.
Create a menu for your DIY cocktail bar. Put each name of the drink in bold letters and list directions on how to make it under the drink's name.
Print out a few copies of the menu and laminate each one. The laminate will keep spilled liquids from ruining the menu.
Set out the appropriate glasses for each drink. Martini glasses, tumblers and highball tumblers are common drinking glasses. Make sure to also include a few shot glasses so guests can correctly measure out the alcohol according to the recipe.
Place bottles of each alcohol needed on the bar. Start with one bottle of each and keep extra bottles under or behind the bar. This will help the area look less cluttered.
Include bottles of mixers, or if you prefer fresh ingredients, place fruit in a bowl. Lay out a muddler, which helps to extract juice from fruit.
Separate garnishes into small bowls. This includes cherries, limes, onions and olives.
Lay out a few stirrers, which will help guests mix their drinks.
Put out two small plates. One should have salt on it, and the other should have sugar. Label each glass, so guests can rim their glasses if they choose.
