In what promises to be another enlivening occasion, ArtColony International (ACI) will be holding the fourth in its series of Christmas Magic Goodwill Concert. The annual event which maiden edition held in 2010 has the aim of using the creative arts to promote social consciousness whilst providing a platform to creatively initiate sustainable development in at least one community every year. This event encapsulates the essence of ACI’s vision viz. re-building society…a bit at a time. The programme will feature a unique combination of prime entertainment, young talent promotion and community development. Christmas Magic! adopts a concert-competition format, therefore making the heart of the show an altruistic effort.

As with the three past editions, the focus of Christmas Magic! 2013 is the education sector with the objective of raising funds towards the improvement of literacy. In line with this, ArtColony would be working with two education foundations: Courage Education Foundation (in support of indigent pupils) and Stephen Adams Social Reformation Foundation (centred on teacher training) with the aim of raising funds for at least one of their empowerment projects.

The event, which will hold on Friday, December 13, 2013, at the Agip Recital Hall of MUSON Centre by 6.00pm, will feature seasoned performers competing for five projects of these foundations Timothy Ogunbiyi (piano), Chukwunomnso Diali (guitar), Olufa Deborah (mezzo-soprano), Samara Hassoun (soprano) and
Johnson Adenuga (piano). This year’s event will be anchored by Ben Ogbeiwi and feature guest performances by Bemyoda and Boluwatifè (TVC’s Arise Nigeria runner up).

Previous events have had in attendance a cross section of art lovers of various ages as well as members of the diplomatic corps in Nigeria. These events also featured special performances by various seasoned artistes such as Kate Henshaw, Olufunmi and Norman MacLeod (a Scottish bag pipe player and Chief Operating Officer of SINOPEC Ltd.) in the Christmas reminiscing segment called “My Christmas”

ArtColony International (ACI) is a creative arts and entrepreneurial organization which has the objectives of re-instating the relevance of Arts to the society, as well as being a positive catalyst in the society by utilizing creative talents in initiating sustainable solutions to societal challenges.
