The day began with an opening prayer led by Bishop Albina Lollyman who also delivered a powerful exhortation imploring all present to put their trust in God and persevere in faithfully pursuing whatever good thing they start. The Chairperson of Ayatutu Bam (UK), Rev (Mrs) Nguumbur Abu, then welcomed all members and invited guests who made out time to attend. She further gave a brief recapitulation of What Ayatutu Bam (UK) is and what kind of activities are embarked upon by the bam.
A powerful presentation on Global Energy Issues: Challenges and Opportunities swiftly followed. This presentation was made by Prof Stephen Sweeney of the Advanced Technology Institute, University of Surrey. This internationally renowned researcher concisely and succinctly delivered this paper highlighting the massive opportunities that exist in the area solar power in Nigeria. The Prof received a spontaneous standing ovation with a thunderous applause at the end of the talk. It is worthy to note that Barnabas Ikyo undertook both his PhD and post doctoral research under Prof Sweeney.
At the end of the talk, Prof Sweeney was decoration in our Tiv attire by the duo of Mrs Elizabeth Aloho and Ms Adeh Uyeh as a mark of honour. The Prof, who was visibly happy, could not hide his emotions.
This was swiftly followed by a few words from the family of Dr/Mrs Barnabas Achakpa Ikyo. Dr Ikyo expressed appreciation to all those who have made him succeed in UK. He narrated how the journey all began in 2008 and since then all the experiences he has had, both positive and negative, have helped in preparing him for the future. He further introduced his family, including his mother-in-law who came in for the event. He urged all members to keep up with the good work of spreading bam; that his family is leaving the UK but, thanks to the internet, they are still very much around. All the anointed men and women of God in the house, led by Rev. Dr Terzungwe Abu, Rev Nick Agule and others extended their hands over the Ikyo family and offered prayers. All those in attendance joined them in this powerful session, standing and stretching their hands as well.
Another highlight of the occasion was the cutting of send forth cake. The cutting of cake was led by Mrs Linda Iorhemen who described the colours on the cake; white standing for purity; black symbolising our natural Tiv colour; purple standing for nobility, royalty, power, wealth and mystery. She prayed that as we eat the cake may the mystery of unity and togetherness be our experience and that Tiv people and friends will seek not to scatter but to gather to the greater glory of God.
Two distinguished elders in the house, Mr Stephen Agera and Mr Matthew Daga then presented a token to the Ikyo family on behalf of Ayatutu Bam (UK). Following that was the honouring of invited guests and presentation of gifts to Ayatutu Bam (UK) Ambassadors by Miss Iveren Nyinoh.

The occasion climaxed with the Ayatutu Bam Banquet. The banquet took the form of a buffet. There was variety to choose from. All those present were ushered in for the buffet with everyone going for their favourite.
Just as we thought the event was about to come to an end, Mrs Eva Daboh-Aondo arrived beaming with smiles. Fresh from honey moon, her presence added colour to the event.
The event was well attended by bam members friends and well wishers.
