Federal University Of Agric Makurdi Honours Ghana President John Mahama,TY Danjuma ,Dr Alex Ekwueme With Honourary Degrees.

The president of Ghana, Mr John Dramani Mahama, former vice president, Dr Alex Ekwueme and chairman, TY Danjuma Foundation and former minister of defence, Gen. T. Y. Danjuma are to be awarded honourary degrees by the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi(UAM).

The vice chancellor of the university, Prof Emmanuel Kucha who announced this yesterday said the awardees had rendered services to humanity and deserved to be appreciated.

Kucha stated that it is imperative for great leaders to be recognised having fought for the development of education in the country and Africa, adding that the award recipients have assisted the university in various capacities.

He noted that the focus and direction of his administration is defined by a five-point agenda which include creation of an enabling academic environment for teaching and learning, improved staff and students welfare, rapid infrastructural development, research innovation and strengthening of extension activities to ensure access to scientific agriculture.
