Hon Minister Of State Trade And Industry Hon Samuel Ortom Set To Resume As Supervising Minister At AVIATION Ministry.

As I prepare to begin supervising Aviation

Yesterday, after a minor cabinet shake up, Mr President entrusted me with the added responsibility of supervising the Aviation Ministry. This was coming barely a day after my Ministry, Industry Trade & Investment launched the first ever Nigerian Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) at the state house, Abuja.

At the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment we have recorded a lot of gains and milestones since the advent of this administration and as reward for my efforts there, the Almighty God has deemed it fit to give me the added responsibility of repositioning the nation’s Aviation sector in order to make it pivotal to economic growth in furtherance of Mr. President’s Transformation agenda.

So yesterday, I called my personal staff and aides at Trade into my office and intimated them of the new development and challenge of this new phase of my public service career. I reminded them life was all about sacrifice and in whatever endeavor they have been chosen to do, they must be diligent, steadfast and committed.

This old fashioned ethos, I told them, was the only way they could progress if they aspired to go further in life. No matter how difficult the terrain was, there should be no room for complaint or mumbling but proactive ways of conquering the challenges facing them on their paths.

As I head to the Aviation ministry, I reminded them I was going there to consolidate on the work of my predecessor and improve on her milestones. Even though my tenure at Aviation may be short, I told them I intended to work to bring about institutional changes, infrastructural development, human capacity building in line with the Aviation Master plan and Implementation roadmap already approved by the Federal Executive Council.

I enjoined them, as I enjoin all of you now to join hands with me in making this dream a reality. All ideas, suggestions, innovations and contributions geared towards making my job as the supervising Minister of Aviation a success will be highly welcome and appreciated.
After a major shake up in the Federal Exco that saw the exit of Aviation Minister Stella Oduah and 3 others,President Jonathan swiftly delegated some ministers to over see the ministries whose ministers where sacked,He drafted Hon Samuel Ortom to supervise the Ministry of Aviation ,this is with immediate effect,Hon Samuel Ortom is set to move ,here is what he told his staff before he moved to his new assignment.read his speech after cut.
