Okonjo-Iweala Makes It Clear That She Remains Very Much In Office.




The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has dismissed speculations that she has resigned her appointment.
In a statement issued late last night, Okonjo-Iweala made it clear that she remains very much in office and reassured Nigerians that the Jonathan administration remains committed to the continuation of the current economic policies and the maintenance of macroeconomic stability through tight fiscal and monetary policies.
The statement signed by her Special Adviser Paul Nwabuikwu reads:
“It has come to our attention that a story is circulating online about the purported resignation of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
“For the avoidance of doubt, this story is not true.

“The Coordinating Minister is still in her position and assures Nigerians that the Jonathan administration is committed to the continuation of the current economic policies and the maintenance of macroeconomic stability through tight fiscal and monetary policies.
