Benue Assembly To Ban Beef Cause Of Fulani Herdsmen. mcheeeew.

The Benue State House of Assembly has embarked on consultations to enact a law to ban the consumption of beef from Fulani herdsmen.
Majority Leader of the House, Mr. Paul Biam, made the announcement at the funeral of the late Mama Celina Ayom near Ihugh in Vandeikya local government area of Benue State.

According to Mr Biam, the assembly has identified the consumption of beef as a contributory factor to the on-going incessant attack hence the need to shun beef from the herdsmen.

He said if the initiative was accepted by the people the new legislation will encourage Benue indigenes to rear other domestic animals and the indigenous cows to replace Fulani beef adding that the law will also prescribe appropriate sanctions against those who will breach the law.
