Project Lend-A-Hand..Benue Youths Put A Smile On Faces Of DisplacedPeople.(Pictures).

Benue youths last Saturday converged at Woodland Park under the auspices of Lend a-hand to visit displaced people at various camps in Benue sacked from various communities as a result of the Tiv/Fulani crisis.
The people visited were mostly homeless people,people without food and proper healthcare living in camps that lack water ,displaced people of Guma local government in Benue state hit by crisis between herdsmen and farmers sent away from their homes in the villages.See more pictures here.




These are the people this young men and women, “Benue Youth Lend a hand” decided to reach out to.Benue Youth lend a Hand, founded by Mr. Ukan Kurugh, is a coalition of young men and women  active on Social Media,who came together and raised funds and contributed towards alleviating the suffering of the displaced people taking refuge in camps in Benue state.
The coordinator of Benue Youth Lend a hand, Kenneth Ati spoke with the Press stressed that  the motive behind the visit was purely a humanitarian gesture.
“Benue Youth lend a hand is a coalition of young men and women who have decided not to just talk or tweet and post messages on facebook but try to take action in bringing aid to the displaced people in Benue state” he said.
Among those at the camp were sick people who received treatment from the Medical team of the Benue Youth lend a hand, headed by Dr. Yima Ijir of Benue State University Teaching Hospital,Dr Doom Awunah and Dr Jerry Ukuhwa.
Other relief items like food stuff, clothes, shoes, bags and portable water were supplied to the displaced people in the camps.
The displaced people at the camps visited expressed excitement and urged other people and donor agencies to come to their aid as they face a lot of challenges at the camps.
