BENGONET & Civil Society Organisations In Benue JoinThe #BringBackOurGirls Protest & Teachers Strike.(Pictures.)


Benue Non Governmental Organisation Network (BENGONET) in collaboration with Civil Society Organisations (CSO) today took  advantage of the Annual Children’s Day celebration which holds 27th May of every year to hold a peaceful rally tagged #BringBackOurGirls/#BringOurPupilsBackToSchool in Makurdi demanding the release of the Chibok girls who were abducted since April 14,they equally called on the Benue state Govt to end the onging strike by primary school teachers in the state due to a prolonged stalemate on implementation of 18% approved minimum wage leading to 9 nine month old strike. 
The rally was conveyed by Barr Justin Gbagir who is also the Chairman Of BENGONET,the rally started at the IBB square and terminated at the House Of Assembly ,this was because security agencies stopped the protesters from going to Govt House Makurdi.At the House Of Assembly ,the Speaker received the protesting youths and addressed  them ,he said the Fed Govt is on that and they are in touch with their moves to return the girls,on the Primary school teachers strike ,Ayua said all was being put in place to end the strike.
The Children's day celebration which is  normally celebrated with pomp and pageantry was however a nationwide low key/ non-celebration day.
Benue youths came out in large numbers to participate in the rally,including little Miss Benue.The moved round the streets carry placards with different inscriptions calling on Government to intervene in the Chibok abduction and the 9 month old strike by Benue teachers.

Madam you deserve open commendation from Benue people this is too much,I was there you forgot to write that Spaco and others beat up someone and tried to stop the rally.

Why didn't the Gov address these people,I don't there is anything wrong with this protest.
