"Shame On APC,Supreme Court Has Vindicated Me-Gov. Suswam.(hehehe).

Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam yesterday said his victory at the Supreme Court was a victory for the entire people of the state, saying his vindication has rather brought a big shame to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).Recall that a gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), which collapsed into the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof Steven Ugbah had filed an appeal against Governor Suswam, at the Supreme Court and alleged that the judgement of the apex court  on the supremacy of 180 days for dispensing with electoral dispute was invalid. But the Supreme Court had, on Monday, dismissed the appeal by the opposition and declared it lacking in merit and that the argument on the issue of 180 days is purely an academic exercise and abuse of court process. However, Suswam yesterday while fielding questions from newsmen in Makurdi described the victory as a great shame to the opposition bigwigs and said it was rare for the apex court to review a case on a previous motion.“It was well known all along that they were wasting their time because their action was an abuse of court process. The Electoral Law and the constitution is very clear and sacrosanct on the issue of 180 days. It is rare in the history of case review for an apex court to review a case on a previous motion.I am happy that the Supreme Court has vindicated me and this should serve as deterrent for people to stop abusing the court process. This is a victory for the entire people of the state and this is the first time a sitting governor of a state will be in court for three years. It is a bad precedence for the state but they (opposition APC) have been put to shame and next time no person or political party will do that,” Suswam stated.
