Nigeria To Host Second Africa Fashion Reception In Abuja From July 3-5th 2014.

Forty designers from about the same number of African countries will partake in the second installment of Africa Fashion Reception, a fashion show-cum-trade fair due to be held in the Nigerian capital of Abuja.

Slated to take place from July 3 to 5, 2014, the soiree, which would bring together fashion designers, garment and textile manufacturers, and fashion accessory and lifestyle product producers, aims to build bridges by creating free trade and partnerships among fashion practitioners throughout the African continent.
Themed ‘Africa is the New Inspiration of Global Capital’, the event will also strive to attract global attention to the continent’s rich and diversified dress culture which can be explored as a catalyst for the social economic growth of the Africa’s garment or textile industry.
The event will also aim to eliminate poverty in African nations by creating women and youth empowerment through various fashion vocations such as training, capacity building schemes, workshops and setting up of medium and small scale businesses.
Labels like Botocy (Botswana), Chrystalix Paris (Cameroon), Cindy Monteiro (Cape Verde), Akou (Ivory Coast), Nesma Helmy (Egypt), Urban Roots (Ethiopia), Lily Alfonso (Malawi), Papi Valeria (Mali), Darkaoui (Morocco), Zizi Cardow (Nigeria), Inco (Rwanda), Diarra Bousso (Senegal), Keepeekee (Sierra Leone), Diana Magesa (Tanzania), Fay Designs (Zambia) and Rumbie (Zimbabwe) will feature their designs at the soiree.
In addition to the above mentioned names, talented designers from Angola, Burkina Faso, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Namibia, South Africa and Togo will also exhibit their creations at the event which will be attended by ambassadors and media from different nations.
Supported by the Nigerian Ministry of Tourism, Culture & National Orientation, the three-day event will be organized in collaboration with the World Fashion Organization, a 115-member country association that works to bring about meaningful development through wealth creation in Africa.
