Acting Governor Of Adamawa State Vows To Confiscate Nyako's Illegally Acquired Properties.

Adamawa state acting Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reiterated his commitment towards confiscating illegally acquired property and cash from officials of former Governor Murtala Nyako’s administration.

Speaking at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholder’s meeting in Yola Friday, Fintiri said his interim administration is setting up a judicial panel that will work with the federal anti -graft agencies to trace and recover funds stolenfrom the state.

“This debt has been added up and the government in its wisdom has decided to create a separate account for these liabilities. Anybody who has done this will not go unpunished. We will set up a judicial panel of inquiry, whoever used our monies to build houses, we would have those houses sold and the monies recovered and returned back into the state coffers. Every penny of Adamawa State must be recovered,” Fintiri said.

He explained that the administration has opened a separate account for N82 billion worth of liabilities which was established after adding up the N12.6 billion debt and N70 billion debts from unsettled pension, monies owed contractors and other funds allegedly diverted to non-viable projects.

Fintiri said the state government is set to inaugurate the judicial panel of inquiry saddled with investigating and recovering every kobo of state funds siphoned by officials under the former administration.
