Aggrieved APC Members Form New Labour Party In Benue State.

I remember when I posted here that some people from APC are planning to decamp and form Labour Party. I received cyber bashing for that post ,but finally LP is set to roll in Benue.

Like ACN (now APC) they are here to take Benue by storm .Infact most of the members of LP are aggrieved APC members.So how will they get followers ,will the wait for candidates who lose out in various primaries like ACN did in 2011? Lets wait and see what will play out here.

The relentless,continuous and unabated depletion of the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC)in Benue state has finally birthed a new harmonized people oriented political platform that is grass roots based, and properly representative of the poor, weak and vulnerable in our society.

This platform is THE NEW LABOUR PARTY in Benue state,that is founded on equal opportunity and social justice, twin democratic principles that was completely absent in the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS.

The NEW LABOUR PARTY as an alternative third force in party politics in Benue state is led by a plethora of almost half of the former state executives committees and state working committee of the DEFUNCT ACTION CONGRESS OF NIGERIA.

The reason for quitting the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS for the NEW LABOUR PARTY in Benue State arose mainly from the climax of the crisis that engulfed the (APC)in Benue state following the protest and accusation of imposition of ward, local government and state executives committee members of the party and the unwillingness of the leadership of the party to reverse this undemocratic trend and culture of impunity. Indeed the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS as currently composed,constituted and manipulated is no longer the party we all started as ACTION CONGRESS OFNIGERIA, where justice and democratic ethos were held to be sacrosanct. Indeed,there is a very serious failure of leadership in the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS as presently constituted and therefore,we can no longer afford to be part of it.

The birth of the ALLPROGRESSIVE CONGRESS has there fore enthroned a deliberate and systematic disenfranchisement of members through imposition of party officials which has always been the norm of the leadership.

Amongst other critical reasons which are fundamental in calling it quit with the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS is the deliberate refusal of a cabal to listen to the voice of reason so as to return to the right path, preferring to work towards turning the party into a personal estate of one single individual.

The Flagrant promotion of antipeople’s practices and slaves drive by the leadership on the members by keeping members of the party in perpetual and endless hours for congress materials that never came, only for names to be written down to undermined the cherished democratic tradition ofour people, has also quicken our resolved to exit the party.

Finally,the monopolised national leadership of the party is tited towards one religion and the threat to national unity posed by the Muslim/Muslim presidential ticket that is actually being canvassed within the party, not minding the sensitivities of the precarious state of the nation is indeed repulsive to us and we cannot therefore in good conscience accepta devilish and selfish agenda by some religious zealots in the party.

The NEW LABOUR PARTY as an alternative political platform in Benue State is therefore poise to give the weak,and vulnerable, poor people of Benue State a voice in state affairs, where the culture of impunity and imposition will never ever raise it uglyhead.Our party says no to big names, we say no to hijack ofpolitical processes and platformbythe reason of class,education, socialstanding and assets in bank account. The LABOUR PARTY is poise to give the grass root people empowerment to choose their leaders and representatives freely without remote control or over bearing influence.

The new party has already swang into action by constituting a caretaker committee headed by the former chairman of the old labour party, COMRADE ADISHIRSHA ADI assisted by BARRISTER KENNETH AYAVGA(former legalconsultant to the defunct ACN) and ENGINEER OCHAYI OGEBE, (former state organizing secretary ofthe defunct ACN) while HON. J.T GYUSE(J.P) the former state secretary of the defunct (ACN) is its secretary and MR HAA-ORPIN TERSOO, former state deputy chairman of the defunct (ACN) is the publicity secretary.

Already the state, local government and ward executivecommittee has been constituted on an interim basis, with a firm mandate to commerce the registration of party members, while the various tiersof congresses willfollow after math to electan authentic and substantive executive committee to runthe party.

The excitement of the alternative platform has been received with wide jubilation across the entire length and breath of Benue State as a liberation party platform. Thousands of party followers fromthe ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS across the state are moving in droves and are anxiously waiting for the membership registration to commerce. The new party is conscious of the unfounded rumor of its hijack by a very big named politician, this big lie is completely false and founded in malice and deceit and strongly paddled by the usual antics, of the leadership of the ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS to cause unnecessary distractions.

We wish to assure the people of Benue state that,the rumor is dead on arrival.As there is no substance in its origin .we are all very high ranking politicians of repute and can never be hijacked,even though our party is open for identification, collaborations and co

-operation, with all political forces to rescue our state,we cannot and will never ever allowed to be used, we therefore urge our teeming members to discard the rumor and join this libration struggle to move our state forward.

Finally the coming on board of THE LABOUR PARTY is essentially to give the voiceless, a voice and offeran alterativepolitical platform to credible persons to actualize their dreams for good governance and liberate our state from the shackles of misrule and mediocrity.

We are on a rescue mission, and time indeed is not on our side, but are assured, that, with the co-operation of the teeming and majority member of Benue state, we can make a difference.
