BlackBerry Launches The New "BlackBerry Passport" With New Features.

After the smoke cleared on Apple’s new phones, the Blackberry Passport was revealed to much less noise.
It’s marketed to professionals more than people who spend a lot of time on phones playing candy crush saga, and that (kind of) explains the rather strange shape.

The Blackberry Passport is actually wider than the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and that takes some doing.
“The BlackBerry Passport was created to drive productivity and to break through the sea of rectangular-screen, all-touch devices.” said John Chen, Blackberry’s chief executive.

Well, it’s very square inshape. It will take a while to get used to in your hand though, despite having a thickness of just 9.3mm with a change in keyboard. Blackberrys traditionally have a keyboard of four rows, but with the Passport there’s just three. The traditional fourth row is replaced with an on-screen keyboard for punctuation and numbers.

The display is crisp, with 453 pixels per inch, but what will really impress smartphone users and Blackberry’s target market is their promised battery life: 30 hours of use. That’s more than the Note 4.

The Blackberry Passport hopes to optimise Blackberry’s OS, Blackberry 10. Its latest update, 10.3.1 is still playing catch up with iOS and Android and Windows Phone but has some features that are better suited to doing work.
Blackberry users now have access to the Amazon Appstore too and a feature called Blackberry Hub, a place for all of your messages, emails and texts. 10.3.1 has also added “instant actions” which allows you to respond to calender invites and the like from the hub.
It offers a lot more than other Blackberrys but the strange look, feel and price £529 will probably keep anybody away who isn’t already a Blackberry user and there’s not too many of them anymore.
