Gov Suswam Accuses Sen Gemade For Failing To Follow Laid DownProcedures In Saturday's Ward Congress..




Benue State governor, Honourable Gabriel Suswam, has accused former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Barnabas Gemade, for not following the laid-down procedure of the party guidelines in the last Saturday’s PDP ward congress in the state.

Gemade had earlier accused the governor of hijacking the materials for the ward congress in the senatorial district for the purpose of ensuring his emergence in the forth- coming primaries.
In his reaction on Wednesday, the governor explained that he was not in the capital city at the time the ward congress committee arrived the state on Saturday, stressing that it was Gemade instead of moving to his ward to await the congress materials, remained in Makurdi.
Suswam further alleged that the ward congresses of Konshisha Local Government Area of the state was held in Gemade’s residence in Makurdi, the development he described as a sharp difference from the party procedures.
Both Gemade and Suswam are aspirants to the Benue North East senatorial district under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party with both slugging it out to control the soul of the zone in the forthcoming primaries.
Speaking on the congress in the state, the governor who said that the exercise was marred with skirmishes however applauded the conduct of the congress, saying, ‘given what we have heard the congress in Benue state was far better than what was obtainable in some states.
“At least we can say we have achieved a remarkable success in this state compare with what we heard happened in other parts of the country, though there were skirmishes her and there which we have resolved amicably”, Suswam concluded.
