Buhari Campaign In Pictures.
In fact, some folks say nothing will stop them from voting Buhari. More photos:
See massive crowd that stormed Buhari's campaign in Bayelsa
I knew that the combination of Muhammadu Buhari and
Governor Rotimi Amaechi can pull a mammoth crowd in President
Goodluck Jonathan's home state, Bayelsa. I thought that 99% of the
people of Bayelsa are with PDP,
Buhari, the APC presidential candidate, took his campaign to Jonathan's doorsteps on Thursday.
Speaking at the venue, Governor Amaechi expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout of party loyalists and expressed optimism that APC will be victorious at all levels of the elections.
Addressing the massive crowd, Buhari noted that Bayelsa was blessed with
a suitable climate and fertile land for large scale agriculture which
will be harnessed to drive economic development.
He regretted the inability of the Jonathan administration to develop even Bayelsa, his own home state, and promised to reverse the negative trend and bring development to the people.
He said power was critical to unlock the potentials of Nigerian entrepreneurs and will be a cardinal part of his economic programme.
Buhari also pledged to embark on skills acquisition and empowerment schemes that would benefit the teeming unemployed youths in the state.
He was accompanied on the campaign tour by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, National Chairman of APC; Chief Timiprie Sylva, former Governor of Bayelsa; campaign coordinator, Governor Amaechi, and many other top officials of the party.

Amaechi said, “In the case of Rivers they said he refused to develop Rivers because he is quarreling with me but let me ask you: is your son Jonathan (also) quarreling with [Governor] Dickson?
“Why do they say 'charity begins at home'? We expect Bayelsa to be a model state.”

22 PDP Guber aspirants in Akwa Ibom dump Party, join Buhari in APC
Twenty two aggrieved governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State, otherwise known as G22, have finally
defected from PDP to All Progressives Congress, APC.
It was learnt that the 22 governorship aspirants of the PDP in the controversial December 8, 2014 primary in the state decided to defect from PDP to the APC on Wednesday.
Consequently, they will meet the APC’s presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, January 12, 2015, to finalize their integration into the party.
“This inhuman treatment is only meted out to G22. How could the President, who had met with individuals like Senator (Musiliu) Obanikoro and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume not meet 22 aspirants of the party? Is the President saying that they do not count? Then let us see how the party will win in Akwa Ibom State.”
Funny enough, this is the same thing PDP chairman, Adamu Mu'Azu was complaining about when he said there was too much "using and dumping" in PDP, especially by the governors and the presidency.
The aspirant also said President Goodluck Jonathan could not find a solution to the crisis. He said the crisis came to a head on January 6 when Jonathan, after scheduling to meet with them, later declined.
He said, “The President’s last minute decision was said to have been masterminded by a fifth columnist. It could be recalled that the (members of) the G22 have been in Abuja since December 9, 2014. Both the party leadership and the President are playing games with them without finding a political solution to the issues and without using the party’s mechanism to redress their complaints."
Buhari's campaign crowd throws PDP into fear in Cross River
But the rally held by the APC on Wednesday, heading by General Muhammadu
Buhari, has seemingly changed the political language and equation in
the state.
The rally, which was organised as one of the campaign stops of Buhari, the APC presidential candidate, was a huge success. It attracted an unprecedented crowd of supporters which no opposition party has been able to muster in the past 16 years and marks a significant tipping point in the political affairs of the state.

It attracted an unprecedented crowd of supporters which no opposition party has been able to muster in the past 16 years and marks a significant tipping point in the political affairs of the state.
From all parts of the expansive state, crowds of the party’s faithful converged on the Mayne Avenue Primary School, venue of the rally as early as 9 am singing and dancing while awaiting the arrival of Buhari and his entourage whose delayed flight arrived the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, where another large crowd of supporters was waiting for him, at about 4pm before proceeding to the rally centre.
According to Vanguard, many political watchers in the state were taken
aback by the large turnout of supporters judging from the near comatose
position of APC and other parties in the state before now.
Following their persistent battering by the forces of the ruling PDP right from the days of Mr Donald Duke who during his eight years tenure consistently wooed over many members of the opposition parties while those who remained adamant were decimated politically.
From being the majority with 13 out of the 25 members in the State House of Assembly in 1999, the APC then called APP went down to zero in the 2003 elections as all those who contested elections for the positions of chairmen of councils, Senate, House of Representatives, State House of Assembly and even councilors on the party’s platform lost woefully until 2011 when Ernest Irek, a member of the PDP who lost nomination to Mr Fabian Okpa crossed over to the then ACN and won Okpa in the general election to become the House of Assembly member representing Obubra 11 State Constituency.
The cantankerous outcome of the party’s state executive council election of the party in 2014 did not help matters as some staunch members were expelled leaving many people disgruntled. However, like the proverbial kiwi which rises from its ashes, the party found its foot back in the months of November and December 2014 with the influx of some PDP members following the acrimonious outcome of the PDP primaries and this significantly boosted the ranks of the party.
Effectively, with the entry of defectors from PDP, the party which in 2011 could hardly present candidates for elections in half of the constituencies was able to fill every vacant position as many people, particularly the PDP renegades fell over themselves to pick the party’s tickets to contest elections for the various positions. So most of these candidates unlike the dead woods of the past were able to muster resources to ferry their supporters from across the state to the rally venue.
The party may, however, need a miracle to win the governorship slot against the PDP, owing to the strong political calculations and indices that prevail in the state.
