TY Danjuma Wants Asari Dokuno Arrested For Unguarded Utterances On The2015 Elections.

Theophilus Danjuma, former chief of army staff, has asked for the immediate arrest of Asari Dokubo, ex-Niger Delta militant, over his recent pronouncements on the 2015 elections.

Danjuma, a retired lieutenant general, was speaking on Wednesday in Kano where he inaugurated the Kwankwasiyya city on the invitation of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, governor of the state. Dokubo had recently threatened war if President Goodluck Jonathan was not returned to power in the presidential election in February.
Danjuma wondered why Dukubo would be making such inflammatory comments at a time peace is badly needed in the country, maintaining that people like Dokubo should be condemned and arrested to serve as a deterrent to others.
He said: “The man should be arrested for his unguarded and reckless utterances. In a situation like this, the issue of entrenching peace in the country is what is needed most. We should not allow some miscreants to hold us to ransom. Nigeria belongs to everybody and we must do everything possible to safeguard her unity.” Danjuma also asked politicians to stop making unguarded utterances capable of overheating the polity.
“As we are approaching election time, we must strive to ensure that important issues are thoroughly discussed but not personalities. We want have a perfect election where no one would have an axe to grind with anybody.
Once the politicians campaign on issues not personalities and avoid anything capable of causing disaffection, I am confident that we would have a foul-free elections,” he said. He commended Kwankwaso for providing physical infrastructures in the last four years and described the Kwankwasiyya city as one of the “modern edifices” in the current democratic dispensation.
