Igbos In The 19 Northern States Endorse Goodluck Jonathan ForRe-Election.



 Ahead of the March 28 presidential election, Ndi-Ezi Igbo and Igbo leaders of thought in the 19 northern states of Nigeria have thrown their weight behind the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.

This is as they called for adequate protection for all Nigerians, especially those living outside their states of origin during and after the 2015 general elections.
A communiqué at the end of the meeting was signed by Eze Ibe Nwosu, President of the Association of Ndieze-Igbo N'Uzoije in Nigeria and Diaspora; Eze Pampas Ngozi, Coordinator, Ogbako Ndieze-Igbo of the 19 Northern states and Abuja, and Eze Boniface Ibekwe, Eze Ndigbo Kano.
The communiqué, noted that the Igbo in the north reaffirmed the support on the decision of the Igbo apex body, Ohaneze-Ndigbo, to endorse Jonathan's re-election.
According to the communiqué, "Ndi Eze Igbo and Igbo leaders of thought in the 19 northern states and Abuja held their meeting on the 14th of February, 2015 in Abuja."
"After exhaustive deliberations on the state of our dear nation, Nigeria, and other matters, the following decisions were taken.
"To re-affirm their support on the decision of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide to endorse His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan for re-election on March 28th presidential election.
"To appeal to the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, to,,as a matter of necessity, provide effective security for all Nigerians, especially those living outside their states of origin, before, during and after the 2015 general elections.
"To re-affirm their unflinching support and loyalty for the present leadership of the Igbo apex body, Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, ably led by Gary Enwo-Igariwe.
"To call on all Ndigbo in the 19 northern states and Abuja, who have not collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), to endeavour to do so before the expiration of the INEC deadline for the exercise.
"To re-affirm their belief in the unity and indivisibility of Nigeria.
