Heavy Protest Going On In Rivers State By APC Over Conduct Of Elections.

There is tension in Rivers State as thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress in the State have besieged the INEC state collation centre for the Presidential and national Assembly Elections demanding the cancellation of the elections.

They insist that no elections took place in the State yet results are being returned. Among the protesters are the Governorship candidate of the APC in the State, Dakuku Peterside, his running mate, Asita and the party’s senatorial candidate and incumbent Senator, Magnus Abe.
The APC supporters say voting did not place in most polling units in the State because results sheets were not brought to the polling units for elections.
Governor Amaechi had confronted some INEC officials at some polling units yesterday why they did not come with results sheets. The INEC adhoc staff simply said they were not given results sheets. That fueled suspicion with the Governor calling on the party supporters not to vote until results sheets were produced.
At the INEC collation centre in Port Harcourt, the APC Governorship candidate presented a petition to an INEC staff stating their grievances. The party is also allegeing that its agents were chasedcaway from the collation accusing the State Resident Electoral Commissioner of working for the PDP. They also alleged that the PDP Governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike, was at the collation centre.
