Nigerian man sentenced to 6 years in UK prison for sexual attack




Emmanuel Ndegwe, a 35-year-old Nigerian man has been sentenced to 6 years in jail for breaking into the homes of some women with the intent of sexually attacking them.


Emmanuel was sentenced yesterday (Mar 10) at the Inner London Crown Court after being charged with three counts last year March.

The first count was trespass with intent to commit a sexual act, which he received a sentence of four years for. The second count he was charged for was trespass with intent to commit a sexual act where he was sentenced to two years to run consecutively; and he was also charged for stalking, causing fear of violence, which he was sentenced to one year, to run concurrently.

In a previous court hearing, Ndegwe pleaded guilty to the two counts of trespass with intent to commit a sexual act and the one count of stalking, causing fear of violence.

Detective inspector Tracey Miller, of the Lambeth borough, said: "Ndegwe attacked these women in what should have been the safety of their own homes. I would like to praise them for the bravery they have shown throughout the course of this investigation."

All the attacks took place during 2013 and into 2014 in the Lambeth and Southwark areas.

Miller added: "There is the possibility that Ndegwe may have attacked other women, so I would urge anyone who suffered at his hands to contact officer
