PDP Dismisses Mu’azu’s Rumoured Resignation •Accuses APC Of Peddling Rumours.

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, on Wednesday night, dismissed the rumour making the rounds that he has resigned from office with immediate effect.

Mr Tony Amadi, special adviser (media) to Alhaji Mua’zu, who spoke on his behalf, said the rumour was part of APC tactics.
“Why should he resign? He has no reason to resign,” Amadi stated.

He asked the opposition to wait for Nigerians to give their mandate, which, he said, would definitely not be in the favour of the APC.

Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja on the development, the national publicity secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, said there was nothing like, adding that “Alhaji Mu’azu is on duty, directing the campaign activities of the party for total victory at the polls.”

Metuh fingered the main opposition, the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the brain behind the rumour, in order to cause a total confusion within the rank and file of the party nationwide.

When reminded that the purported resignation had gone viral on a social media platform, Twitter, Metuh said “I can tell you categorically that our chairman has not resigned as being speculated. It is the handiwork of the APC. This is callous and wicked, they just want to discredit our party ahead the elections.”

It was reported last night on the Twitter blog that Mu’azu, in anger, turned in his resignation letter, as a result of the alleged conflict between him and President Goodluck Jonathan.
