The national and state house of assembly tribunal in Benue State has authorized the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Benue South senatorial zone, Comrade Daniel Onjeh and his party to inspect and take the electoral materials of last senatorial election in the area.

Onjeh had contested the senate seat of the Benue South senatorial district against the senate President David Mark of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Mark was pronounced the winner of the poll but Onjeh faulted the result, alleging that it was rigged and prayed the tribunal to grant him leave to inspect and the take the electoral materials.
However, the chairman of the tribunal, Mr. M.A Dipeolu, in Makurdi granted Onjeh’s application to take copies of the materials and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to move to the tribunal all the electoral forms and other materials used for the election held on 28th March, 2015.
The tribunal ordered that the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Benue State to make available to the petitioner, Onjeh the certified true copies of the forms and other electoral materials.
It further stated that the electoral materials for inspection include all forms EC8A(1), EC8B(1), EC8C(1), EC8D(1), EC25 series and EC40. Others are copies and certified true copies of all accredited voters as captured and recorded by card readers, as well as copies of all incidence forms EC40H and EC40J as used during the election.
