Benue State Government Directs Dethronement Of ''Ter Nagi' Chief Daniel Abomtse'.See his suspension letter inside.

The Benue state government has directed that the second chief, and chairman Nagi Area traditional council,Chief Daniel Abomtse be dethroned with immediate effect.
Addressing journalists in his office today in Makurdi, the special adviser to the governor on local government and chieftaincy affairs,Prince Solomon Wombo said that the traditional ruler was dethroned due to his misconduct, embezzlement of his subordinates’ salaries ,issuing of statements on behalf of Tiv Area Traditional council without approval from the paramount ruler, the Tor Tiv,as well as mismanagement of Fulani crisis among others allegations.See the letter after cut.

According to Prince Solomon Wombo, the district head of Sengev,Chief Iorember Nenger has been appointed to cover the duties of the dethroned traditional ruler until further notice.
Meanwhile,Chief Goddy Ikyereve, former House of Representatives member representing Gwer/ Gwer West Federal constituency,as well as former NUJ chairman,Benue state council who contested with Chief Abomtse has already been contacted for consultation with the Tor Tiv on a possible replacement for chief Daniel Abomtse.
It will be recalled that chief Abomtse has in recent time been controversial on local and national issues as they affected the Tiv people,a development which did not go down well with the powers that be.
There is also a strong suspicion that Abomtse may have been suspended due to his controversial stand on the Fulani insurgency in Tiv land in which his principal, and the chief executive of the state have been fingered as having dabbled into the issue.
