INEC Official Caught With Thumb-printed Ballot Papers In Favour Of PDPIn Niger .



A supervising ad hoc staff of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Ibrahim Tanko  has been nabbed by the police  in Sambo ward of Rijau local government area of Niger State  with  two booklets of   thumb-printed ballot papers.

Tanko was arrested on Friday night few hours to the governorship and house of assembly elections with the  thumb-printed ballot papers in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A source revealed that supervising officer  after collecting all election materials went back to complain that there was a shortfall and was given extra without any recourse to checking the ones already given.
It was learnt that some agents of the other political parties who had been suspicious of the ad hoc staff raised the alarm which necessitated  a search of a PDP stalwart’s  car and the two booklets of ballot papers were found already thumb-printed in favour of  PDP before the police division in the area arrested him and was transferred to Kontagora area command.
INEC  head of Voter Education Unit in Niger State,  Malam Mohammed Wase confirmed the incident, saying investigation into the matter was ongoing .
