No Regrets Losing My Senate Ambition-Suswam.
Contrary to speculations that Governor Gabriel Suswam has briefed lawyers to challenge his defeat in the Benue North East Senatorial seat which he lost to his All Progressives Congress (APC) opponent, Senator Barnabas Gemade, the governor has assured his supporters that he has put behind the loss
behind him in order to focus on the battle coming up this weekend.
Governor Suswam who disclosed this during a reception organised for his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Solomon Wombo in Katsina Ala stated that he remains grateful to God for his mercy which has made it possible for him to serve Benue State for the eight years both in the National Assembly and as Governor.
He noted that though his desire was to go again to Senate and influence development to his constituency, but the dream never jelled may be because God has something else for him. “I must appreciate God for His mercies to lead a very difficult state like Benue for eight years. I have done my best for the state”, he stated.
He emphasised that he has already put behind his defeat during the senatorial elections which his opponent Senator Barnabas Gemade of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious. He however urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters to ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming April 11th, 2015 gubernatorial and house of assembly elections
