PDP Guber Candidate Prince Terhemen Tarzoor Drags Chief Samuel Ortom To Election Tribunal.

Chief  Samuel Ortom may end up ruling the state like Gov Suswam because of the legal battles he will be facing, while he is battling with Hon Emma Jime of APC over the APC guber ticket, and now governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor has headed for the elections petition Tribunal to file a petition against Chief Samuel Ortom of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with newsmen shortly after filing the petition yesterday, lead counsel to Tarzoor, Barr. Titus Hyundu maintained that his client had approached the tribunal with three prayers because Ortom was not qualified because he was not validly nominated to contest the election.

“We are praying that the tribunal should declare that Ortom was not qualified to contest the election. We are also praying the tribunal to declare that all votes scored by Ortom were invalid and that Tarzoor be declared winner after certificate of return is withdrawn from Ortom.”

Reminded that his client had called to congratulate the Governor-elect shortly It would be recalled that shortly after the final results of the election were announced, Hyundu said he was not aware of that development.

Also asked if he was aware that the state Governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam had during a courtesy call on him by Ortom, disclosed that both Tarzoor and the PDP had agreed not to institute any legal battle against the incoming governor, Hyundu also said he was not aware.

“I am not aware of that. The Governor must have been quoted out of contest because as we speak right now, he himself (Suswam) has dragged his opponent to the tribunal. Also, the PDP has said all aggrieved members in the last elections can go to court. What we are doing is in line with section 171 of the constitution.”
