APC Govs-Elect Back North Central & South West For Senate President/Speaker House Of Rep Positions,
Governors- elect under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have agreed on a formula to break the current stalemate in deciding the leadership of the National Assembly, reports Vanguard.
The governors have agreed to cede the offices of Senate President and the Speaker, House of Representatives to the North Central and South West-zones of the country respectively.
The governors took the decision after a meeting of the self appointed 5 man committee of the governors on Thursday last week.
The decision of the governors was greatly influenced by the input of Adamawa, Borno and Bauchi State Governors-elect who surprisingly rejected the two positions.
The three governors rejected the positions because they were not comfortable with lawmakers from their states occupying the Senate President seat and the Speaker of the House.
The governors said that as the number 3 and 4 persons in the political hierarchy of the country, the lawmakers once they are elected as Senate President and House Speaker would become their political leaders.
