Benue State Constitutes Committee To Immortalize Deserving Sons & Daughters.





The Benue State Executive Council has constituted a five-member committee to immortalize deserving Benue sons and daughters that have been part and parcel of the development of the state since it inception.
Briefing journalists shortly after the EXCO meeting held in Makurdi last Wednesday 6 May, 2015, the state Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Hon Justin Amase, said the committee is charged with the responsibility of looking into the various edifies and key places within Makurdi metropolis and recommend to the council to approve such edifies and key places to be named after the deserving sons and daughters of Benue State.

Hon. Amase who informed that the EXCO meeting was resided over by its chairman, Governor Gabriel Suswam and supported by his deputy, Chief Steven Lawani, said that the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. Saint Gbilekaa, heads the committee, with the Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Hon.John Enger, the Commissioner of Culture and Tourism Hon. Comfort Ajene, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Matter, Hon. Sebastian Agbinda as members whileMr. Bartholomew Geraga, an officer in the EXCO secretariat is the secretary of the committee.
According to him, details of their recommendations will be presented to the EXCO next week, assuring that as they receive their recommendations and council deliberated on them the final approval of the individual edifies as well as the sons and daughters of Benue State would be made public.
