Gov. Suswam Absorbs Over 3,000 SureP Graduates Into The Benue Civil Service.

Wooh.... SureP employees in Benue State have been absorbed into the civil service.
I don't understand why Suswam is doing this.

about 3,000 Benue youths were engaged to benefit from the seven thematic areas earmarked for the execution of the SURE-P Scheme.

During flag off ceremony at  IBB Square, Makurdi on February 24, 2014, Governor Gabriel Suswam said following the partial withdrawal of subsidy on petroleum products in January, 2012, the proceeds had been shared among the three tiers of government for the purpose of youth empowerment and infrastructural development.

He disclosed that in Benue State, emphasis shall be on poverty reduction through youth empowerment and wealth creation.

This, he explained, is because of his government’s conscious efforts towards addressing the challenges posed by unemployment and its attendant social consequences.

He pointed out that those beneficiaries who proved their worth would be engaged by government as soon as opportunities arise even as he charged them to take the scheme very seriously as the benefits are huge.

Dr. Suswam warned that the scheme is not meant for those already in service or retirees, adding that those in service found to be engaged in the scheme would be  penalized.

How does Benue intend to pay outstanding salaries and pay outstanding for SureP graduates.

Sad Ortom is in trouble.
