How Armed Robbers Were Stranded Today At The Residence Of FormerUniAgric V.C.Prof D.V Uza.

 


Armed robbers today allegedly numbering up to seven were stranded in the residence of former Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture (UAM), Makurdi, Prof Daniel Vershima Uza even as the police had condoned the area.

A family source disclosed  that the robbers gained entrance at about noon today into the house located at Judges quarters in Makurdi by scaling the fence. 
 The robbers tied up the young man they met at the premises and went into the house but their hostage was able to loosen the ropes ,escaped and alerted  the police.

Hope Abah  reported earlier that for over three hours, the robbers were under police siege and it was not clear whether other members of the family were held captive.
 Police spokesman, Austin Ezeani said one of the robbers was hiding in the ceiling but that the policemen drafted to the scene continued  to keep surveillance in the vicinity till the robbers are captured dead or alive.
Meanwhile, Uza when contacted by telephone said he was not at home at the moment.
