Remember we reported last week that former Minister of Internal Affairs, Comrade Abba Moro, accused Benue APC of been behind the recent killings in Benue State , especially the killing of PDP Chieftain Hon Hindan Atoza, APC Chairman Abba Yaro has just reacted to his comments, please read.


My attention has been drawn to comments attributed to the former Interior Minister, Comrade Abba Moro, that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is responsible for the assassination of prominent Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members in Benue State.
We in the APC family consider this statement as most reckless, scandalous, reprehensive, unacceptable and blatant falsehood.


I wish to state categorically that our party does not deploy, condone and approve assassinations or any manner of killings or violence in its politicking.

We did not use violence to win elections and there is neither justification nor need to deploy such now that we are the governing party.
As an opposition party we didn’t have the means and desire to acquire instruments of violence and to use same.

On the other hand, it is the PDP that has been known for violence in the 16 years that it held sway in the affairs of the country.
Moreover, in the build up to the 2015 elections, we reported attacks on our property and supporters including our Governorship candidate, Samuel Ortom’s convoy by suspected PDP thugs in Adikpo, Kwande local government area.

We also reported the acquisition of arms by chieftains of that party for use during the elections.

Although God working through the security agencies and vigilance of the populace thwarted most of the PDP plans for violence, they were able to kill four APC supporters in Logo, one each in Ushongo and Makurdi local government areas during the 2015 governorship polls.

This underscored the genuineness of our alarm about the PDP acquisition of arms and plans to deploy same during the last elections.
That party had also massively looted the resources of the state with the objective of utilizing the loot to overwhelm the electorate so that they could retain power.

The violence within the ranks of that party could be attributed to disagreements on money sharing as well as accusations and counter accusations on money related issues.

It must be noted that the former Interior Minister has antecedents of gun running as well as a much publisized criminal case in that regard.

In the light of recent developments in the state we have resolved to press for the reopening of that case as well as petition the Nigerian Human Rights Commission to investigate the tragic immigration recruitment exercise in which Comrade Moro, as minister, masterminded the deaths of many innocent Nigerian job seekers.

The former governor who lost his senate bid vowed publicly that his attack dogs would go after people who collect his money and fail to execute his wish.

The recent Killings which are more rampant in the Benue North East senatorial district and the Sankera political axis are the direct consequence.
With these kinds of bloodthirsty chieftains PDP should look within its ranks to find the killers.
