Governor Ortom Warns Favour Seekers To Stop Using His Name To Perpetrate Evil.

Benue State Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom has has dished out strong warnings to people using his name to perpetrate evil. He disclosed this when the BSU SUG President and student leaders visited him in Gbajimba during the sallah break.

The governor who has been working hard to ensure that violence and thuggery is eliminated from the state said anyone caught using his name for any unwanted evil will be dealt with because the era of thuggery is over and as such, thuggery will no longer be tolerated in the new Benue.

It will be recalled that the BSU SU President and another offical, were attacked by hoodlums earlier in the week while holding a peaceful meeting with students, the hoodlums claimed to have been sent by the Governor.
That incident generated criticisms for the Governor on social media for this singular act.

“Favour seekers, I have warned and I’m still warning. No person or group of persons should use my name to perpetrate a crime, such act will no longer be condoned in Benue State. The era of thuggery is passed and gone.” the governor said.

Governor Ortom earlier expressed sadness about what happened to Comrade Bobby and other student leaders.
He condemned the attack saying the boys acted on their own and would face the law.

Only yesterday, the SU President condemned media reports that he accused the Governor of the attack on him saying the incident was blown out of proportion.
